Green Motif Ib / II

Green Motif Ib
(Microwave-type organic chemical reaction experiment apparatus)

The green power of microwave opens the
door to a new age of chemical synthesis.

Features
“Green Motif Ib”, more compact and easier to use than the Green Motif I, is the organic chemical reaction experiment apparatus of the 21st century.
1
Using a single-mode wave-guide, uniform and efficient microwave irradiation of reactor possible.
2Freely settable microwave power from 30W to a maximum of 300W
Easily viewable digital meter allows user to set output at desired level
3With a thermocouple for measuring reaction temperature and a digital temperature regulator, temperature can be regulated as one pleases from room temperature to 300 degrees C. Reaction time can also be set by timer.
4Output monitor terminal fitted as standard, so microwave output status can be checked by recorder etc.
5By switching out the reactor part, the apparatus can be adapted for not only test-tunbe use, but also for flask (reflux fitted) and continuous experiment.
66) With controls concentrated on the front panel, a user-friendly and symmetrical design has been pursued. AC 100V input, so no special facilities required.
7Observation port either side of reaction chamber. Easy to read LEDs on the main unit allow reaction state to be checked.
8Space under the reaction area provided for stirrer
9Safe design to prevent microwave leakage. Automatic protection circuits to shut down microwave in the very unlikely event of a problem.
Option examples
・Reaction vessel for three-neck flask (image left)
・Temperature data logging software (image right)
・Microwave leak detector
・Wave-guide for continuous reaction use
・Magnetic stirrer

Solvent warming example

[fig 3] shows the warming curves for deionised water, dimethyl acetamide and ethylene glycol. Microwave power was set to 300W, and temperature limit was set at or near the respective boiling point. 10cc of solvent in a glass test-tube was used.

[fig. 4] shows the temperature control during temperature limit set for dimethyl acetamide. Microwave power was set at 300W, temperature limit was set at 150 degrees C, and 10cc of solvent in a glass test-tube was used. Temperature was recorded at 5 second intervals for 300 seconds. Solvent temperature was controlled within a range of 150 to 155 degrees C.

Green Motif II
(Microwave-type organic chemical reaction experiment apparatus)

The most advanced organic chemical reaction
experiment apparatus – Green Motif II

Features

High power, high speed heating, high grade model.

1
Faster organic chemical reactions with up to 500W microwave irradiation
2Efficiency increased by using short plunger, recycling the reflected microwave power that passes through the reactor area
3AC100V required
4Compact design, despite the higher power
5Operationality improved by introduction of touch panel
6Connected to a PC, in addition to temperature and microwave output monitoring, setting of microwave power, temperature and reaction times possible from PC
